In this Q&A, you do not recommend applying more PlotStart than is recommended, which is 2.5 gal/acre. But, in further reading from your website, you state that if soil is very acidic, you should go ahead and double the amount. My ph is 4.6, and I just bought enough to apply 5 gal/acre. Is that wrong?
We simply have that text to avoid the misunderstanding that applying more is always better. PlotStart should be applied based off lime suggestions based off soil samples at a rate of 2.5 gallons of PlotStart to 1 ton of lime per acre. At your pH, doubling the amount is correct.
